Although not a Singing In... organised event, Kate organised this event between 22nd - 29th October 2017 for singers interested in attending and participating in the Música en las Montañas festival in the Alpujarras Mountains in southern Spain. 

 

It was open to singers with a basic level of music reading upwards, this week long event combined the stunning views of the Alpujarran mountains with wonderful singing and music making. There were several performances delivered by participants as well as being able to enjoy other musical acts performing in the festival.

The secular music included a performance of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. There was also the opportunity to perform a beautiful selection of sacred music to perform as part of a church service. 

 

Free time was spent walking in the beautiful surrounding mountains, having a coffee or something stronger in one of the delightful village squares or going to one of the other concerts of the festival.
